Infux Of Fleeing Bandits: NSCDC Beefs Up In Nasarawa, Kogi States.

Following the attacks on bandits by the military in Zamfara,Niger,Kaduna and other parts of Northwest, bandits in these areas who were dislodged are likely to take refuge in the North Central states., the Nigeria security and civil defence corps ( NSCDC) has beefed up security in Nasarawa and Kogi States. This was disclosed by the commandant general of the corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi when he received Nasarawa state governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule Wednesday at the corps headquarters, Abuja also said the corps under his watch deployed additional logistics to the two states in order to adequately tackle the security threats posed by the anticipated influx of bandits into the two states.He noted that with the current insecurity situation bddeveilling the country, the only option remaining to nib the emerging trend is to work on intelligence, pointing out that, the corps would always take action if in possession of credible intelligence. The commandant general assured the governor of continued support and cooperation from the corps towards ensuring tackling security challenges and maintaining the peace in the state. Audi used the opportunity to appreciate the governor for the continued assistance rendered to the corps, also requested the governor to not only sustain the tempo, but to even surpass the previous interventions.ana also appreciated the governor for the visit. Earlier, Governor Abdullahi Sule called on the commandant general NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi.to make the state and the country proud.especially at this time that Nigeria is contending with security challenges. The Governor commended the state command of the corps for the support in the maintenance of peace, especially during the Peak period of covid-19 pandemic.Engineer Sule pointed out that, the NSCDC is at the forefront of arresting suspects involved in the vandalisation of railway sleepers as well as investigating and enforcing the state’s anti-rape law. Engineer Sule equally commended both the out- going state commandant of the corps, Gidado Fari and his replacement,Abbas Bappa Muhammad for putting- in their best.
