The All Progressives party ( APC) chairman of Nasarawa state, Dr John D.W Mamman has constructed a multi- million Naira Mosque in his village,Dari, Kokona local government of the state. Dr John D.W. Mamman who is a devouted Christian said he built the mosque for the Muslim in his community in order to encourage religious harmony amongst the people of his community. He said ” It is not only mosque for the Muslims in my community that I built, I also assisted those practicing traditional religion most especially during their annual festivals.,”. Our correspondent who visited Dari community to witness the last Wednesday’s local government election in the area also saw people tropping the house of the state APC chairman,Dr John D W. Mamman to thank him for what he has been doing to the community since his time as Kokona local government chairman, Permanent secretary in the Nasarawa state civil service and now the state APC chairman. It was also gathered that those visiting the chairman’s house were irrespective of religion, tribe or political affiliation. Speaking to our correspondent, a fulani man Abubakar Lamido who said his parents are living peacefully in Dari community for over fifty years described Dr John D.W. Mamman as a very peaceful and generosity person who cares for everyone in the community particularly commended him for building a mosque for the Muslim in the community despite their negligible number, and urged other spirited individuals to assist to enable Muslim in the community to have a befitting place of worship. Our correspondent who later monitored election in Dari Ward reports that APC got almost all the votes in the community due to the kind gesture of the APC chairman,Dr John D. W. Mamman. The State APC chairman further commended the Electorates in Dari ward, Kokona local government and Nasarawa state for having confidence in the party who won all the 13 local government chairmanship and 147 councilorship seats in the state, which according to him,is a clear demonstration of acceptability of the party by the people of the state. Also Speaking, former member representing kokona East at the State house of Assembly, hon. Jacob Okari Owa who commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for taking the state to an enviable heights also called on the people of the state to continue to support the policies and programmes of Governor Abdullahi Sule to enable him succeed on the enormous tasks ahead.
