NNPC, GACN, And The Nasarawa State Government Signed M.O.U On Gas Supply. By Abdullahi Shuaibu, Lafia.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation ( NNPC) Gas Aggregation Company Of Nigeria.( GACN) and the Nasarawa state government have signed a Memorandum ( MOU) for the supply of gas to industries and investors in the state.

The Memorandum of understanding ( MOU) which was signed at the business roundtable meeting at Government house Lafia with the theme ” to explore investment opportunities in the gas sector also had in attendance the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation ( NNPC) Malam Mele Kolo Kyari, The Group Executive Director,Gas and power, Malam Muhammad Abdulkadir Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of Axxela, Mr Bolaji Ogunsonya were at the signing ceremony.

Speaking at the Occasion, Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation ( NNPC ) Malam Mele Kolo Kyari observed that the signing of Memorandum of understanding MOU) was aimed at creating job opportunities to the teaming unemployed youths in the state.

He pointed out that, the signing of the Memorandum of understanding ( MOU ) was as a result of the provision of a conducive atmosphere by the state governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule. Adding that, the concrete evidence of the progress made so far with respect to AKK pipeline and emphasised that Nasarawa state is uniquely positioned to maximize value from the pipeline as well as gas based business. Kyari highlighted and appreciated president Muhammadu Buhari’s unwaivering commitment to utilize gas as a major tool to drive economic development.

The Managing Director, Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria ( GACN) Mr Olalekan Ogunsonya has said that GACN has set out a clear framework through which investors and projects in Nasarawa state would access gas immediately through virtual pipeline solutions.

On bis part, Nasarawa state Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule who commended both Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation ( NNPC) Group Managing Director, Malam Mele Kolo Kyari, Executive Director, Power and gas, Malam Muhammad Abdulkadir Ahmed and the Chief Executive Officer,( CEO) Axxela,Mr. Bolaji Ogunsonya for their efforts in ensuring the signing of the MOU between them and the Nasarawa State government.

Governor Sule also assured them for his people, and that of the government and people of Nasarawa state to enable the programme succeed in the state.
