Education, Science and Technology takes lion share in Nasarawa State Budget 2022 fiscal year of over #31billion.
.State Commissioner for finance , Budget and planning, Mr. Daniel E.Agyeno who made the disclosure during this year’s budget breakdown in his office Friday also said Works, Housing and Transport got over #14 billion, While office of the secretary to the state government and government house Administration got over #9billion and #8 billion respectively.
Agyeno Fürther explained that Agriculture and water resources gets over #4 billion, while ministry of Land and Urban development get#3 billion.
He said state judiciary gets #3.038billion , Ministry of Justice#487 million while ministry of youth and sports development get#1.6 billion.
Others are Women Affairs and social development#678 million, Environment and Natural Resources#1.6 billion, local government, Community development and chieftaincy Affairs,#3.6 billion, state house of Assembly##2.5 billion, Ministry of information, Culture and Tourism#912 million, Office of the Head of service#620 million, office of Auditor general#206 million, civil service Commission#249 million local government service Commission#55 million and the Nasarawa State independent Electoral Commission ( NASIEC)#271 million.
The Commissioner used the occasion to announce the major projects and programmes to be carried out this year which includes economic empowerment through Agriculture#988 million, poverty alleviation#112 million, improvement to Heath sector#1.3 billion, enhancing skills and knowledge#9.7 billion, housing and Urban development,#13 billion and Youth#170 million.
Others are Environmental improvement,#215, million, Water Resources and rural development#3.5 billion, Information, Communication Technology,#244 million, Growing the private sector,#807 million Reform of government and governance#3.3 billion, power#2.4 billion, Airport#1 billion, covid-19#594 million and climate change#1.018 billion.
Mr Agyeno therefore called for support and cooperation of all asundry to the government of Engineer Abdullahi Sule to enable him succeed on the enormous tasks ahead.
