Police in Garaku Division, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have arrested a 42- year-old man, Dan’ Asabe Eddo for allegedly raped an 80- year- old Woman.
According to a press statement signed by the police public Relations Officer ( PPRO) Nasarawa State Police Command, ASP Ranhal Nansel and copy made available to journalists in Lafia said ” On 14/1/2022 @ about 22:30 hrs, a complaint was lodged at Garaku Division, Kokona Local Government Area of the state that One Dan’Asabe Eddo who hails from kubasha village of Kaduna state,but residing in kundare village, Kokona local government Area of the state had a canal knowledge of an 80- year- old Woman who lives alone in the same village with the suspect, Dan’ Azumi Eddo without her consent. Following a tip- Off, the suspect was arrested and was taken to Garaku for interogation.”
Meanwhile, state police Commissioner has directed that the matter be transferred to the state criminal Investigation Department ( CID) Lafia for further investigation.
The police in Nasarawa State has reiterated it Commitment to ensure the protection of lives and property of its citizenry and advised any suspecious movement should be reported to the law enforcement Agencies for prompt action.
