The All Progressives Congress ( APC) Nasarawa State chapter has endorsed Senator Umaru Tanko Al- Makura as the APC National Chairman.
According to the Stakeholders at their meeting at banquet hall government house Lafia Tuesday said,” Senator Umaru Tanko Al- Makura who was amongst those for formed CPC which metamorphosed to APC should be the right person to be made the APC National Chairman.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Abdullahi Sule said , Nasarawa State is the only state from the former Benue Plateau that could not produce the national Chairman of a National party,
Governor Abdullahi Sule further explained that ” Late Chief Solomon Daushep Lar was the first national Chairman of PDP from Plateau state, former minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe and Senator Barnabas Gemade all from Benue state were at one time national chairmen of PDP.
He said now is the turn of Nasarawa State to produce the national Chairman of APC in person of Senator Umaru Tanko Al- Makura to be the national Chairman of the party come 2022, February,26th.
On his part, state Chairman of the party, Dr John D. W. Mamman who went into memory lane how CPC was formed and later metamorphosis to APC said senator Umaru Tanko Al- Makura deserved to be rewarded with the position of the national Chairman.
On their parts, professor Muhammadu Akaro Mainoma and Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada all appealed to the APC critical stakeholders at the national level to consider senator Umaru Tanko Al- Makura as APC National Chairman.
The Nasarawa State APC stakeholders called on the stakeholders at the national level to give Umaru Tanko Al- Makura the national leadership of the party in the best interest of peace,Unity and the progress of the party.
