It was a historical gathering of sort last Sunday when eminent personalities cutting across different works of live converge in the Tin city of Jos, the Plateau state capital, for an award ceremony, “Plateau Man of the year award”.
The program which is 7th in the series held at Tamarald event center, Jos, amidst pomp and pageantry where many recipients were honoured.
These include the Deputy speaker National Assembly and member representing Wase Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Idris Maje Wase, Senator Istifanus Dung Gyang, Plateau North Senatorial district, Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum, the chief executive officer Human Virology center Abuja and Governorship aspirant under the platform of APC come 2023, Mr. Dashe Arlat, the executive chairman Plateau State Internal Revenue Service.


Other awardees includes; Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, the executive Secretary of Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda former resident electoral commission Benue State and APC governorship candidate Plateau State 2023, Mr. Yemi Kosoko of Channels Television as well as other Chief executives of public and private sectors.
The organizer of the event Mr. Cletus Akhime, said this is the 7th edition of the award to honor Plateau personalities who in their carries impacted positively to the society.
He said It takes a lot of tenacity and thorough search to select the awardees in the year under review.
According to him,” basically, the event is to celebrate people who contributed to the development of Plateau State. Every year we select those men and women and we say thank you for what they have done, and we encourage them to do more because to whom much is given much is expected!
“Today some were awarded it is expected that others will be recognized in the near future because we can’t award everybody the same day. If you don’t have it today, tomorrow you will have it. It is step by step issue. We can’t award one million people in one day.”
It has been revealed that about 280 Plateau personalities received the meritorious accolades ever since the inception of the initiative seven years ago.
