The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP in Plateau state may have embarked on another controversy journey capable of bringing more misfortunes to the party.
It is glaringly clear many of its supporters are down to their mouths over the recently conducted rally in langtang north local government area to recieve agrieved members of the All Progressives Congress, APC including the immediate past chairman of the party, Hon. Lateb Dabang.
The rally has been considered by many as ill- timed, considering the pending issues left unresolved by the party, the circumstances that a group of Democrats in the party is currently considering a legal action against the organizers of the rally.
The embattled chairman of the council Ubandoma Lamven and Black Tyem are fingered to to have organised the rally.
The group, under the aegis of “Vanguard of Democrats ” hiwever maintained that they are constraint to commence contempt proceedings against those it describes as “misguided opportunists” who are hell bent at destroying the efforts of the funding fathers of Democracy.
“We heard from the grapevine that some disenchanted APC members in Langtang North are set to decamp to the PDP today. We support their freedom of choice by taking a flight from undemocratic practices in their former party thus their resolve to shift grounds. We abhore impositions by any political party.
” However, the above undemocratic practices are common features being practiced by the leading political parties in the country. No true democrat would accommodate impunity. But between the POT AND THE CATTLE WHICH ONE IS DARKER?
“If the decampees had done their homework well, they would have tarried awhile. The PDP is in crisis because of the same problem – IMPOSITIONS! Vanguard’s of democracy in the party took a different style by instituting cases and remaining to correct the political canker worm brought into the party by elected political office holders. It was challenged in court! We obtained favourable judgements. Some of the cases are on going. The intransigence of stooges planted by the above opportunists, refused to implement valid judgements which led to the exclusion of the party from the last local government elections. Nothing has been done to avoid the barricade.
“We are heading to 2023 without figuring how we can scale the legal hurdles before us. Its pathetic that THOSE who orchestrated these unfortunate sequences are the ones that would be receiving the decampees! They are the ones that exported their ill conceived brand of impunity from Langtang to other local governments in plateau state it thus became a state wide problem.
“Unfortunately, they benefited from the goodwill of the father of democracy in Nigeria – Chief Solomon Daushep Lar. They should bury themselves in shame as the man’s legacy was true democratic practices and not IMPOSITION!
“Today, Black Tyem who was imposed as the LGA party Chairman but is restrained by a valid court judgement, will be receiving the decampees! We shall commence contempt proceedings against him after today’s event. With this attitude, we are on our way to Golgotha”.
