By Moses Gbande

For quite some time now, residents of Jos, the Plateau state capital have been engulfed in a perpetual hardship, following the inability of the water board to release water to customers by the state water board.

The situation is gradually becoming unbearable as most women and children risk their lives at nights in search of water to no avail. A situation where sime resulted to acquiring water from water vendors whose source is unknown, thereby threatening the health of the citizens that could lead to the out break of an epidemic.

A walk round the capital city, shows a sympathetic situation, where many women queue up with thier children at disgnated points for days and eventually end up without getting even a gallon to take home.

Largely, the situation seems to be worse in Tudun Wada areas to the extent that one of the House of Assembly Aspirants for Jos North West constituency, under the ticket of the PDP, Hon. Ishaya Samuel, had to seek for private services by acquiring water tanks to be supplying water to various communities.

At Angwan Yashi, by the reidence of the former speaker, plateau state house of Assembly, Rt Hon. Peter Azi, where the aspirant was seen supplying water, it really called for concerns.

Most of the women caught on the scenes expressed disappointment with the government of Simon Bako Lalong and the APC, for their inability to provide necessary services to the citizenry. and called on men of good will who have bore holes in their homes to volunteer to release water to them to alleviates their hardships.

On his part, a PDP councillorship aspirant for Tudun Wada/Dong ward, Hon Julius Gofwan called on residents to remain calm, promising they will within their reach ensure they quality drinking water gets toeveryy home.
