APC In Cold as Retired General Joins Nasarawa Guber Race

It is no longer calm inside Government House, Shendam road, Lafia as the immediate past General Officers Commanding, GOC of the 3rd Amoured Bridgade, Jos, Major General Nuhu Ekpaji Angbazo formally joined the race for the Nasarawa state Governorship.

Angbazo who declared interest for the number one office in Nasarawa state was on Monday presented with a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP nomination form purchased for him by employees, associates and ex beneficiaries of his gesture while in office.
About one hundred volunteers spread around the thirteen Local Government and Development Areas of the state had mobilize their personal resources to procured the nomination form for the retired Armoured office.
General Angbazo, a member of the 36 regular course of the Nigeria Defence Accademy, NDA, holds a master’s degree in International Security and military strategy. He was the Nigeria military attachee to Mali and other countries before emerging as the GOC of the 3rd Armoured Bridgade suppervising five other military formations in the states of Gombe, Adamawa, Bauchi, Nasarawa and Benue.
Presenting the PDP nomination form on behalf of others, Miss Patience…,a trsinee nurse who is still on the scholarship of the retired General said they contributed half of the money while bulk came from friends and associates of the general.
Major General Angbazo is believe to be networking fast into the opposition PDP structure with the hope of emerging as the consensus candidate for the 2023 Governorship race against the incumbent, Gov Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state.
With Sen. Ewuga’s withdrawal from the race, General Angbazo is working hard to wrestle the PDP ticket from four other aspirants including the 2019 flagbearer, Hon. Dr Dave Umbugadu, Sen. Solomon Adokwe and ex information minister, Labaran Maku respectively.
Recall that the Ex FCT Minister of State, Sen Solomon Ewuga had stepped down from the PDP race.
The declaration of the retired General is the talk of the moment in most APC gathering as his entrance into the race is said to be ‘very disturbing’.
Before his retirement from the military last January, the general is said to have close ties with the new National Chairman of the ruling APC, Sen Abdullahi Adamu.
Adamu, a former governor of Nasarawa has bitter ride into office as Gov Abdullahi Sule who was still backing his political godfather, Sen. Tanko Almakura against Sen. Adamu.
General Nuhu Ekpaji Angbazo is fast courting the support of dozens of the youths whose hope appear narrow down and dim under the current government with insecurity, economic growth and unemployment rising.
