Plateau 2023: PDP Promises Fairness, As Over 150 Aspirants Pick Nomination Forms.

The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP Plateau State Chapter, says it will be fair to all aspirants who picked their expression of interest forms to vye for position of Governorship, National and state Assembly positions fom Plateau State.

The Organising secretary of the party, in plateau state, Hon Gwott Yakubu Chocho who disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent in his office explained that, no fewer than 135 aspirants have picked forms for the State House of Assembly.

Adding that, 17 aspirants are also justling for the seat of governorship under the platform of the PDP in the state, while three to four in almost each of the constituencies have picked forms,

He said the exercise which is going to competetive compared to previous elections, said as a Party, they are determined to provide a level playing ground for all the aspirants, and encouraged aspirants to lobby delegates who are out there for them to canvas for votes.

He said the number of Aspirants are increasingly upload regularly, as many were still making last minute rush to the party to pick their nomination forms.

He said with the increased number aspirants that picked forms , it depicts that PDP is the only true party that people have hope with.

Hon Gwott says it is however left for the aspirants to works for their success, at the end of the day those who won and those who lost in the contest, “we can now join hands together to work for the victory of the PDP at the poll to defeat the opposition parties”.

He said Nigerians are hoping and praying that INEC would be fair all political parties to ensure that whoever wins elections should outrightly be declared the winner and doing so can bring about peace in Nigeria and Plateau state as anything shirt of that would not be tolerated.

He however commended the INEC for the fairness demonstrated in the just concluded elections in Plateau state bye-elections and across the country, and urged them the sustain the tempo.

“what always brings rancour after the elections in Nigeria is that if, for example, I see my stronghold where am going to win an election there and you have already announced somebody, when results were being counted, of course, I will be sad”.

Chocho stressed the need for INEC to adoot saying recruiting them as staff, which they’re easily manipulated by politicians so we appeal that teachers should be recruited to handle our conduct of elections in Nigeria so that whoever temper with the results of the election have himself to blame by either losing his job or demoted.
