The Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State health Insurance Agency ( NASHIA) Dr. Gaza D. Gwamna has said that over 60,000 have so far registered with the Agency since he assumed the mantle of leadership of the Agency three years ago.
Gaza who made the disclosure in his office Thursday While exchanging views with some journalists also attributed the success recorded in the Agency to the untiring efforts of the state govrrnor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule who ensured that the Agency is up and doing in providing the health care delivery services to the people of the state at affordable rates.
The Executive secretary of the state health insurance Agency who also Commended journalists, both prints and electronics media,as well as social media for promoting the activities of his Agency , further appealed for more collaboration to enable him succeed on the enormous tasks ahead.
On those who are the the beneficiaries of the Nasarawa State health Insurance Agency ( NASHIA) Dr. Gaza D. Gwamna gave the names to include Civil servants, the Vulnerable people as well as private individuals who cut across 147 electoral wards in the state.
He said the law establishing the Nasarawa State health Insurance Agency ( NASHIA which was passed by the State house of Assembly since 2018 has made it mandatory that every citiezen of the state must enroll with the Agency.
On the challenges facing the Agency, Dr. Gaza Gwamna said the Agency has the problem of manpower as well as COVID-19 pandemic which affected most of the activities not only in Nasarawa State, Nigeria, but also globally and that with the support of the governmt under Engineer Abdullahi Sule they are able to tackle some of the challenges.
When asked to score governor Abdullahi Sule on the health sector particularly, Dr Gaza Gwamna said. ” I will rate governor Abdullahi Sule 100 percent, ” I thank Governor Abdullahi Sule he has been given to the Nasarawa State health insurance Agency ( NASHIA)” he said.
