Disturbed by the massive defections of members of the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Nasarawa State following the fallout of the just concluded party’s primary election in the state, the party has set up reconciliation committee to reconcile aggrieved members of the party.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Chairman and members of the committee at governmt house Lafia Tuesday, governor Abdullahi Sule who noted that some aggrieved members of the party have left APC due to what they described as injustice of the party, said ” as leaders,we cannot afford allowing aggrieved members of the party leaving the party en masse considering the fact that next year’s election is around the corner.”
He therefore advised the chairman of the party’s reconciliation committee in the state head by a senior legal luminary Barrister Hassan Muhammad Liman SAN and members of the reconciliation committee to do all it could to ensure that the aggrieved members who have left and those who are yet to leave to remain in the party,as according to him,” there is no alternative to APC” .
Governor Sule further appealed to members of the committee to meet with them wherever they are to ensure their return to the party without further delay, so that together they move the party to enviable heights.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, chairman state APC reconciliation committee, Barrister Hassan Muhammad Liman SAN pledged that they would do their best to ensure that all the aggrieved members of the party in the state are brought back to the party.
While expressing his appreciation and that of members of his committee for finding them worthy for the onerous job, Barrister Liman therefore called for support and cooperation of aggrieved members as well as members of the party to enable his committee succeed on the enormous tasks ahead.
