Nasarawa NLC Debunks Non- payment Of Salaries By The State Government,. Described The Allegations As Mischief, Malicious. By Abdullahi Shuaibu, Lafia.T

The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC) Nasarawa State chapter has described as mischief, malicious and false reports by an online media not Nasarawa reporter that the state was among the states in the country who are yet to clear salary arrears for between six to eight months.

Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC) Nasarawa State council , Comrade Yusuf Iya who made the disclosure in a press conference in Lafia Monday also said Governor Abdullahi Sule is one of the leading governors in the country who are paying salaries to their workers as at when due .

Comrade Iya who Commended governor Abdullahi Sule for prompt payment of salaries and gratuities as well as pension further said the report against Governor Abdullahi Sule is an attempt by some mischief makers to distract the governor from doing the good work he has been doing to the people of the state.

He said. Workers in the state would continue to appreciate the good gestures of the state government by ensuring that they come work regularly in the best interest of the state.

Comrade Yusuf Iya therefore appealed to the general public to disregard the report,as according to him,” they’re doing that to gain cheap publicity and to blackmail the governor most especially now that election is around the corner,” but I want to assure that Governor Abdullahi Sule will win his re- election without hitches from any angle”.

It would be recalled that an online media last week published false report that Nasarawa was among the states in the country that could not pay salaries to its workforce for between six to eight months, the report that could not go well with both the state government and the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC).
