Nasarawa State government is set to employ more extension agents in the state in order to meet up with the challenges of lack of enough extension workers in the Agricutural sectors of the state Agriculture sub-sector of the economy.
State Governor Engineer Abdullahi Sule who made the disclosure at the 2- day workshop organized by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the state Agricutural Development Programme ( ADP) at government house Lafia on Tuesday also Commended the federal ministry of Agriculture for organizing the programme in the state.
The governor who noted that Agriculture is the main stay of the nation’s economy further called on participants to make very good knowledge gets during the workshop in their day to activities.
On his part, Minister of Agriculture, Dr Mahmud Muhammad Commended president Muhammadu Buhari for giving priority to Agriculture and urged all to join hands with the federal government in order to achieve the desired results.
Muhammad further Commended the Nasarawa State government for hosting the programme in the state.
Also speaking, State Commissioner for Agriculture and Water Resources, Malam Nuhu Oshafu Commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for according priority to Agriculture which he described as the main stay of the nation’s economy.
Oshafu assured the Support of the state government at all times in the Agricutural sector.
