Governor, Darius Ishaku of Taraba statehas banned the movements of people into or out of the state with effect from Sunday, 29th March, 2020 to check spread of corona virus in the state.
A press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku, Hassan Mijinyawa said
the decision to close the state’s land borders was taken as part of continued efforts by the state government to protect the residents from the spread of the dreaded corona virus.
The statement directed Commissioner of Police and the Commandant of National Security and Civil Defence Corps to ensure strict compliance.
Recalled that the Governor earlier ordered the closure of both Private, Public Schools and Tertiary institutions in the state. He also order civil servants from Grade level 1 to 12 to stay at home for Two Weeks starting from Wednesday 25th, 2020, but exempted those on essential Services, all in an effort to prevent the possible spread of the COVID – 19 pandemic.
