No fewer than 490 violators of COVID-19 restriction order have been arrested and prosecuted by the Nasarawa state police command.
Nasarawa state police commissioner, Emmanuel Lonve who disclosed this to journalists at the end of state security council meeting in government house Lafia also said the police command in the state would not relent in its efforts in dealing with criminals and other law violators in the state.
Longe further stated that the state police command has put everything ensuring the protection of lives and property of the citizens most especially at this trying period of covid19. He called for support and cooperation of everyone in the state to enable him succeed on the task ahead.
Also speaking, Emir of keffi, Alhaji Shehu Chindo Yamusa(iii) said the state government did not ban call to prayers as alleged in some quarters, but that people should observe their prayers at home.
The Emir of keffi further explained that the state government did ban farming activities as people needs food to survive at this trying period of covid19 pandemic.
In his remarks, state commissioner for health, Pharmacist Baba Yahaye said over 2000 returnee from Lagos, port Harcourt and other parts of the country that were tested all them appeared negative. Baba yahaya therefore called on the people of the state to be calm remain law abiding and observe social distancing and other laws guiding covid19.
