Government in Nigeria (ALGON) Nasarawa State chapter has thrown its weights behind Governor Abdullahi Sule on the on-going screening of local government staff in the state. ALGON chairman in the state,hon.AminuMuazu Maifata who stated this in a chat with journalists in his office also said the exercise is the only solution to ascertain the number of staff in the payrolls of local government in the state. Maifata further commended Governor Sule for not interfering with local government funds during the joint account committee (JAC) meetings also said”, Local Government councils in Nasarawa State are enjoying autonomy as state government doesn’t temper with our funds.” On his achievements so far recorded as chairman Lafia local government, Maifata explained that he was able to build classrooms with furniture across the 13 wards in lafia local government, purchase of brand new tractor provisions of herbicides, insecticides, fertilizers among other farm inputs to improve food production in the Area. Thé Lafia Local Government chairman further explained that Teangaya road through the efforts of NUDB in conjunction with Lafia Local Government is nearly completed,provisions of various drainages and culverts among others. On his re-election bid in February next year, Maifata said”I left everything in the hands of God and the people of Lafia local government to decide for me.”
