The Chairman Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission,(NASIEC) Barrister Ayuba Wandai Usman says it is set to conduct Local goverJment elections in the state.
Wandai who disclosed this in a chat with Journalists in his office Tuesday also said the law establishing NASIEC by the state house of Assembly has provided one month to the swearing in of new chairmen to conduct local government elections, but there are about five months away from today,”So as you can see,we still have enough time to conduct elections into local government councils.”.He said Governor Abdullahi Sule has political will to conduct local government elections in the state. The NASIEC chairman used the opportunity to appreciate God, Governor Abdullahi Sule as well as his colleagues for the support he has been receiving since his appointment as NASIEC chairman and urged to maintain the tempo..He also expressed his commitments and determination to conduct free, Fair and credible elections, just as he called on the people of the state most the political class, the Media as well as non-governmental organization to enable him succeed on the tasks ahead.
