Insecurity: Nigerian Pastors Challenge President Buhari To Take Practical Steps To protect Common Man.

A five days International Conference for Arewa Pastors Forum for Peace is on way in Jos, Plateau State, North Central Nigeria.

The Conference, Tittled, ” The Power of unity in the new horrizon” drew participants from various denominational churches from the nineteen states of northern Nigeria.

At the opening ceremony, held at the Rwam Pam townshop stadium in jos on Tuesday, participants advocated for total overhaul of security architectures in the country.

The conference called for physical protection and support for farmers who are now becoming endanger species in the hands of the insurgent particularly the trouble North-East zone ,to stem the tide of emerging food insecurity and nutritional crisis as exemplified in the recent lootings of Covid-19 Palliatives across the states of the Federation.

The National President of “Arewa Pastors Forum For Peace Bishop MJ Ndarchang equally Call on the government to as a matter of national emergency weigh into the present abject poverty ravaging the rural-urban divide which has entrenched inqualities in the population.

“As the religious body, we used the conference to send a strong worded message to Mr President Mohammedu Buhari to as a matter of urgency address the issue the nation’s economy currently nose diving to be more productive for ordinary Nigerias and address unemployment , poverty and low wages”.

He however decried the indiscriminate manner the apex bank of the country (CBN)in the lending of loans to Nigeria based on hard to explain criteria,an called on the Central Bank of Nigeria to take qopon itself on how farmers can get interest free loans to aid them in their farming activities.

On the current killings in the country with no security solutions,the Christians body called on President Buhari to call for search and mopping up of the proliferation of small arms and light weapons more especially the northern state of the country,as they called for complete overhaul of the security architecture in line with the yearning and aspirations of Nigerians.

The Pastors Forum called on the government to see to the resuscitation of the moribund industries in the country which has shoot up unemployment in the country, which if put in place can provide employments for the teeming youths in the country.

The chairman decried the violent attack in the northern states which has displaced many Christians communities particularly in Borno state ,and other surrounding State of the Federation ,this has left behind thousand of widows and orphans.

Bishop Ndarchang use the keynote address call on the religious father to have unity of purpose and unite to see that the next CAN president Come from the northern zone , to avoid always playing second fiddle.

The theme of this year Pastors Conference For Peace which is the 3rd in it series,is ” Power of Unity In The New Horizon”
