Nasarawa state government commences the distribution of assorted relief materials to over 30,000 displaced Tiv farmers that were attacked by the suspected Fulani herdsmen.
On authorities accounts, suspected Fulani herdsmen have in the past few weeks subjected Tiv communities of Doma, keana, and Obi local government areas homeless, in a cordinated launched on the Tiv People in Nasarawa state.
Several lives are being reported killed on daily bases, even as over thousands persons are said to have been rendered homeless.
Our Correspondent reports that, so far, Nassara state government, through the Executive Secretary Nasarawa state Emergency Management Agency, Zakari Zamani Allumaga who flagged off the distribution of the relief materials to the displaced farmers in Lafia, the state capital. Allumaga listed the items to include bags of maize, rice,beans, gallons of Palm oil.mattresses and mats, buckets, clothing, among other items. ,=With these, Governor Abdullahi Sule passionately released some money for us to purchase some food and non food items for distribution to the affected communities in order to ameliorate the sufferings of inhabitants of the affected communities, President Tiv Development Association TIDA. Peter Ahemba who commended the efforts of the state government towards cushion the effect of the crises on the displaced farmers, also, appealed to the state Governor to ensure the restoration of peace and security in the crises-riden communities to enable the displaced farmers return to their farms.
