Friends and well-wishers of the immediate past chairman of Lafia local government council chairman, Alhaji Aminu Muazu Maifata have purchased the nomination form for the former council chairman to enable him re-contest the next local government election. Presenting the nomination form to the immediate past chairman, Lafia local government, Aminu Muazu Maifata at Mosmmera hotel Lafia on Friday, the immediate past secretary of the council, Abubakar Lamino said their decision to purchase the nomination form to Maifata was informed by his performances in Lafia local government council in the last three months in which no chairman in the history of the local government has performed like him. Lamino further explained that after due consultations with friends, political Associates and we’ll wishers of hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata,they have come to a reasonable conclusion that the best way to ensure the his continuity in office is to ensure that they purchase the nomination form for him. He commended the people of Lafia local government Area particularly the Emir of Lafia,Dr Muhammadu sidi Bage 1, Other traditional rulers, religious leaders and leaders of thought for their unflinching support and cooperation given to them during their period in office in the last three years and urged them to maintain the tempo so that they can do more to them when they returned for second time. Speakers after speakers all commended Aminu Muazu Maifata for his modest achievements in Lafia Loca government council in the last three years. They were particularly happy with the immediate past chairman of Lafia local government council in the Areas of security, health, Agriculture, provisions of water, electricity, good roads amongst other achievements. They therefore appealed to him to reciprocate the good gesture by the people of Lafia local government Area to re- double his efforts in providing More dividends of democracy to them if elected for second time. Responding, hon Aminu Muazu Maifata commended his friends, political Associates and the good people of Lafia local government Area for their support and cooperation to his Administration in the last three years and pledged to continue with the good work he has been doing if re- elected. He also appealed to the people of Lafia local government Area to continue to live in peace with one another irrespective of ethnic, religion or political affiliation.. It would be recalled that Hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata is the immediate past chairman Lafia local government Council and the chairman, Association of local governments in Nigeria (ALGON) Nasarawa state.
