APC Primaries : Nasarawa Deputy Governor Defeated In His Home Town.

Nasarawa state deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel A. Akabe was yesterday defeated in his home local government Doma during the local APC primary in the area. The deputy Governor’s aspirant, Mrs Victoria Apawa got 78 votes, While Usman Ahmed Sarki got over 189 votes to clinch the APC ticket in the area. Our correspondent who witnessed the APC primary election in Doma local government Area reports that money exchanged hands during the exercise where between N10,000 to N50,000 were given to delegates to get their votes. Before the primary election, there was an issue of concensus candidate where the said Apawa was said to be endorsed by Doma stakeholders, but majority of the aspirants who were not happy with the concensus backed out of the meeting and insisted that primary election should be conducted to pick the APC candidate as according to one of the aspirants who later emerged as the party’s flagbearer, Usman Sarki. Speaking shortly after he was declared winner, APC candidate for October 6th local government election for Doma local government, Usman Sarki commended Doma local government delegates for not only supporting him to win the election, but also for show of love, concern and maturity before, during and after the election. Sarki further assured the people of Doma that if eventually elected as Doma local government chairman during the October 6th local government election,he would never let them down. He called on those who contested with him and lost to join hands with him in order to make Doma local government better than he met it.
