
The First Lady of Plateau State Mrs Regina Simon Lalong has advocated for joint action on humanitarian activities. Mrs Lalong made her position known while playing host to the President Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) Mrs Slamatu Faruk Yahaya in her office at the Plateau State Government House, Jos recently.
Mrs Lalong applauded NAOWA on its humanitarian activities nationwide, while describing the effort as service to humanity that needs to be consolidated by the body. The first Lady who assured of her continued support to NAOWA, also called on women whom she described as home makers to work together in ensuring lasting peace in the country. She further prayed for the souls of those who paid the supreme price in the course of ensuring peace in the Country. Mrs Lalong thereafter acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the Armed Forces towards restoring peace on the Plateau.
In her remarks earlier, the President NAOWA Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya informed the First Lady of the NAOWA’s commitment to continue reaching out to the less privileged within and outside the barracks community. She also noted that NAOWA’s humanitarian activities on the Plateau is an effort aimed at complementing the giant strides of the Plateau state government in uplifting the living condition of the people.
Mrs Salamatu adorned the First Lady with NAOWA attires, which she described as the symbolic affirmation of the First Lady’s position of Patron 1 in the NAOWA 3 Division Chapter as prescribed in the Association’s Constitution.
The visit also featured exchange of souvenirs and group photograph.
