APC Chairman Warns Stereotyping Of Party.

By Moses Gbande

The APC Chairman in Plateau State, Honourable Rufus Bature has warned the main opposition party against stereotyping the All Progressives Congress.

Statement from thr
APC State Publicity Secretary, Hon.Sylvanus Namang, disclosed that, Hon. Rufus Bature gave the warning at the party’s secretariat Tuesday while receiving in audience Dr Patrick Dakum, one of the gubernatorial aspirants under the APC, who paid him a courtesy call at the party’s secretariat.

According to the Chairman, the APC is a party for all Nigerians and no amount of name calling or profiling would change the narrative.

In his words, “APC is a national party for all Nigerians including Plateau state and no one can reverse that fact”.
He dismissed the continuous blackmail by the PDP in the state that the APC is a party for adherence of a particular religion which is a cheap and dangerous propaganda.

According to Hon. Rufus Bature, what the people of Plateau state need most is the delivery of the dividends of democracy and uniting them which the governor is doing, but is being distracted by agents of disunity.

Hon. Rufus Bature decried the continuous lamentation by nay sayers who have refused to see anything good in whatever the governor is doing for the people of Plateau state.

He said while the APC strongly believes in constructive criticism which is healthy for the growth of democracy, we must respect our leaders who are entrusted with the responsibility to rule by God.

According to Hon. Rufus Bature, when you are not on the seat, it is easy to criticise but we must be careful not to equate lies and with the truth.

Hon. Rufus Bature reiterated the party’s position of working earnestly towards installing an APC government back to back to break the jinx of the ruling party not installing successor from the same party.

He emphasised his commitment to discipline and inclusiveness in running the affairs of the party in the state.

While welcoming the APC gubernatorial aspirant to the party’s secretariat, he revealed that Dr Patrick Dakum was the first to pay such visit amongst all the aspirants under the party’s banner.

He assured him that the party is going to provide a level playing field for all the gubernatorial aspirants under the APC.

In his speech Dr Patrick Dakum who came with a large number of supporters with the party’s secretariat kept agog, said the purpose of his visit was to pay homage and congratulate the party exco over their well deserved election.

The gubernatorial aspirant said he strongly believes in the visibility of the party which must penetrate all the nooks and crannies of the state.
Dr Patrick Dakum frowned at the attitude of some disgruntled members of the party who have been deceiving and cajoling our members to decamp to other parties which he advised was not in their interest as it is counter productive.
According to him, the APC remains a safer place for us though we can disagree to agree on issues as members of one family.

Dr Dakum revealed that his Consolidation Team has embarked on an aggressive recruitment of membership and receiving decampees from other parties.
The aspirant called for support to governor Simon Lalong and decried the situation where some members of the party are among those condemning him.

He said the governor has done a lot for Plateau state which include among others, the Peace Building Agency, the novel Lalong Legacy Projects, agricultural revolution and provision of conducive atmosphere for businesses to thrive.

The aspirant explained that his consolidation agenda is aimed at copying all the best practices by previous administrations in the state to build upon.

He later donated flags for the parry offices in all the local Government Areas with a promise to work very closely with the party to win the 2023 elections regardless of whether he eventually emerges as the party’s candidate or not.
