Governor Sule Tasks The Newly Sworn- in Commissioners, Special Advisers On Leaving Lasting Legacies. By Abdullahi Shuaibu, Lafia.

The newly sworn- in Commissioners and Special Advisers have been charged to leave Legacies that can stand the test of time.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state who gave the charge st the swearing-in ceremony of 14 Commissioners and 18 special Advisers at the Lafia city hall Wednesday.

According to the governor, the appointments, screening and the swearing-in of the new commoners and the special Advisers followed the dissolutions of the last executive Council members which his government found it necessary to appoint persons with requisite ideology, creativity, and pragmatism expected to accelerate implementation of policy decisions as well as enhance execution of programmes and projects that have direct bearing to the lives of the people of the state.

The governor used the opportunity to appreciate the speaker and the members of the Nasarawa state house of Assembly for the accelerated screening and confirmation of the nominees submitted by his administration.

He noted that the cooperation by the Assembly is the further testimony to the collective commitments towards purposeful leadership and service delivery to the people.

The governor pointed out that the special Advisers were appointed in order to make available to his administration valuable counsel that will serve as impetus towards uplifting the living standard of the people.

Governor Abdullahi Sule told the appointees the value his administration places on hardwork, dedication, commitments, loyalty, selfless service, and above all the fear of God.

He also reminded them on the need to to see public service as public trust, especially that they are coming at a trying moment in the life of the administration with people yearning for more dividends of democracy, while the administration is in the last half of its first tenure.

” This has put heavy burden on you as appointees, you must discharge your duties having in mind our principle of accountability, probity, loyalty, and prudent management of resources. This is the only way you can leave Legacies that can stand the test of time.”

Those sworn- in as Commissioners include, Hon Yakubu Kwanta, Ministry of Environment, Hon. Yusuf Aliyu Turaki, local government and chieftaincy Affairs, Muhammad Lawal Yakubu, Information, Culture and Tourism, Hajiya Aisha Rufai Ibrahim, Women Affairs, Hon.Nuhu Oshafu, Agriculture and Water Resources, Hon. Daniel Agyeno, Finance, Budget and Economic planning, Hon. Muhammad Sarki Tanimu,Land and Urban Development, Barrister Hannatu Bala Abimiku, Special Duties ( Legal) Hon. Salihu Ennah Doma,Trade Industries and Investment. Hon.Isaac Luka Yargwa, Youths and Sports Development, Barrister Abdulkareem Kana. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
