Gov. Sule Signs 2022 Budget Into Law, Tasks Officials On Commitments To Duty. By Abdullahi Shuaibu, Lafia.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has signed into law the 2022 budget with a total outlay of #10 billion.

The governor who signed the document into law in a ceremony shortly after the speaker of the house,Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi presented the document to the governor at government house Wednesday also said with the signing of the 2022 budget into law , it’s time the government officials will face the reality , pointing out that, whatever his administration seeks to achieve, must be achieved in the year 2022. Governor Sule therefore, appealed to both elected and appointed political Office holders to gear up to work, adding that, though the recent appointments his administration brought on board people with capacity to drive the state to the desired destination.

He cautioned ministries, departments and agencies against foot dragging ,as according to him,” the Exceeding All Expectations mentra of this Administration is not for campaign purposes, but performance based.”

The Governor expressed the desire for his administration to surpass last year’s 64 percent budget performances, setting the targeted performance for the 2022 budget to between 80-90 percent.

Governor Sule explained why the 2022 budget was reviewed three times by the state Assembly with a view to arriving at a realistic estimate that will allow for improving on last year’s budget performance. ” I want to pray that we from this teams that can take it from here, to have a budget performance beyond 64 percent, our target is to see that we have 80-90 percent performance,if we can do that,then it means we are in the right track.”

The governor commended the speaker and members of the house for the speedy passage of the budget and urged them to maintain the tempo in the best interest of the state.

Speaking earlier before presenting the document, Speaker Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi commended hon. Members particularly members of finance and Appropriation committee for sacrificing their weekends to ensure the quick passage of the budget.

Hon. Balarabe Abdullahi also commended the Staff and consultants engaged by the minitries, departments and Agencies in ensuring the speedy passage of the budget.
