Governor Sule Swears- in Safiyanu Isa As New Chairman, Akwanga Local Government Council. By Abdullahi Shuaibu, Lafia.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has sworn-in Hon. Safiyanu Isa as new Chairman Akwanga local government Council.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony which was held at Government house Lafia Friday,. Governor Abdullahi Sule said the swearing-in was in fulfilment of section 31 (1) of local government law 2018 and law number 5 , 2018 Nasarawa State legal notice.

The Governor charged him to anchor on the principle of transperancy, accountability, Probity and the prudent management of public resources in the discharge of his duties.

Engineer Abdullahi Sule used the occasion to pay tribute to the late Chairman Akwanga local government Council, Hon Emmanuel Joseph Laweh who passed away on Thursday 13 January,2022 at the national hospital Abuja as a result of brief illness.

While praying God to grant his soul eternal rest, Governor Sule appealed to the immediate Laweh family, Akwanga local government Council and Nasarawa State and Nigeria as a whole.

It would be recalled that the executive Chairman Akwanga local government Council, Hon Emmanuel Joseph Laweh who slumped in his office on Monday 10, January,2022 and was rushed to a private hospital in Abuja where he gave up the ghost on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
