Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has condoled with the victims of fire disaster that claims valuable goods and property worth millions of Naira at Yan Kaji in new market at Ali Kazaure Ward in Jos North Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Lalong, who made his feeling known when he visited the market to ascertain the level of damages occasion by the inferno, described the incident as not unfortunate but regrettable.
Represented by the Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Bala Usman, the Governor said he shared in the pains of the traders, and others who lost their shops, properties and means of livelihood in the fire.
Governor Lalong noted that the business communities are key partners in the socioeconomic development of the state adding that the incident will not only affect traders but also the economy.
He directed the Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Bala Usman to constitute a committee to look at the root cause of the inferno.
Chairman New Market Traders Association Samaila Garba commended Governor Simon Lalong for coming to see things for himself.
Garba pleaded with the state and the Local Government Council to come to the aid of those who suffered losses to ameliorate their plights and pains.
Meantime, the Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Bala Usman has led a high power delegation to condoled with the family of Pasali over the demise of the Coordinator of Buhari Campaign Organization Danladi Pasali.
The Chairman who was accompanied by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Inter-party affairs Bashir Sati Musa and his courter part in charge of Muslims Religion Sani Mudi as well as the APC Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area Sani Gangare, sympathized with the family and prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Responding, the younger brother of the deceased, Bala Pasali appreciated the Chairman and his team for the visit saying they are highly consoled by their presence.
