Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has said that, the state is amongst the few states in the federation that are not Oweing arrears of salaries and pension to the local government workers and retirees in the state.
The governor who made the disclosure while hosting members of Association of local government in Nigeria ( ALGON) led by its state Chairman, Aminu Muazu Maifata at Government house on Monday also commended them for following his directive to that effect.
Engineer Abdullahi Sule while commending them for living upto the expectations of the people, also urged them to maintain the tempo in the best interest of the state and the country.
The governor used the opportunity to announce to the them the 2- day working visit of president Muhammadu Buhari to the state between 17th and 18 the of February,2022 called for support and cooperation of all asundry for the success of the visit of president Muhammadu Buhari to the state.
He equally congratulated the former deputy Chairman Akwanga local government Council, Hon Safiyanu Isa for his swearing-in as the new Chairman of the local government, while wishing him the best of luck, the governor called on him to always carry everybody alone in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The governor also condole them over the demise of their colleague , Hon.Emmanuel Joseph Laweh who passed away last month after a brief illness in a private hospital in Abuja.
Speaking earlier, state ALGON Chairman, Aminu Muazu Maifata said they were in government house to condole the governor over the demise of Chairman, Akwanga local government Council, Late Emmanuel Joseph Laweh and commended the governor on the measure taken in ensuring that constitutional provisions were followed in swearing-in the then deputy Chairman, Hon.Safiyanu Isa as the subtantive Chairman, Akwanga local government Council.
He also commended governor Abdullahi Sule for not only offsetting the hospital bills of their late colleague, but also giving him a befitting a state burial.
