The Middle Belt Journalists Forum, MBJF, has read with a huge disappointment, the comments of Nigeria former Vice President, Alh. Atiku Abubkar, the Jege Mule u Tiv on the Anti Open Grazing law as he visited Benue last Sunday.
The group in a statement Signed by its National
President, Hon. Jonathan IPAA, JP and National Secretary Mrs OI Kure, expressed worried that as the Chief shelter of the Tiv people “Jege Mule”, Alh. Atiku didn’t as expected, provide the needed shelter under which the Tiv all over the world would have taken cover including their protection from Fulani killer herders.
“While we thank Atiku for his generous N50m donation to the Benue IDPs, the timing of this donation calls for questioning.
“The over 1.5m IDPs are displaced Tiv who were first hit on the 1/1/2018 by killer Fulani herdsmen. Exactly four solid years without any Atiku’s visit nor condemnation. Benue state is not the only state habouring IDPs as a result of the Fulani terrorists.
“We do not want to believe that Atiku’s Jege Mule title is only active when a presidential ticket is due or the shield is attached to his presidential ambition?
“The Middle Belt Journalists Forum will look forward to meeting with the former Vice President and the Jege Mule of Tiv for explanation on this.
