Minister Of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has bagged the traditional title of Dan Amanan Azara ( The trusted one of Azara) by the Paramount Ruler of Azara Chiefdom Dr Kabiru Musa Ibrahim.
The traditional title of Dan Amanan Azara which was conferred on senator Godswill Akpabio according to the royal father was in recognition of his immense contributions to not only Azara Chiefdom, Nasarawa State, but Nigeria as a whole.
According to Dr Kabiru Musa Ibrahim,” the traditional title of Dan Amanan Azara ( the trusted one) was the first to be given to anybody in Azara Chiefdom, and that with the title, Dr Godswill Akpabio is now a member of Azara traditional council.”)
The occasion which was witnessed by people both within and outside Nigeria, also had in attendance, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar 111, the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, the first civilian Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad1, Traditional rulers within and outside Nigeria and beyond.
The occasion which was part of activities Marking his 20th anniversary on the throne of his ancestors was climaxed with colourful Durbar amongst other activities.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State who Commended the traditional rulers in the country for the promotion of peace, harmony and security in their dormains also called on them to join hands with the government to ensure the security of lives and property in their Areas.
While congratulating the Emir of Azara, Kabiru Musa Ibrahim for clocking twenty years on the throne of his ancestors, also urged him to cooperate with his subjects in order to ensure the success of his administration.
The governor pledged to construct Adudu- Azara road to ease the transportation problems faced by the people of the area.
On his part, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar 111 while commenting the Emir of Azara for clocking 20 years on the throne of his forefathers also called on the Emir to continue to support the policies and programmes of Governor Abdullahi Sule to enable him to succeed.
The Sultan used the occasion to appeal to Governor Abdullahi Sule to construct Adudu-Azara road in order to tackle the transportation problems faced by the people of the area.
Also Speaking, the new Dan Amanan Azara,Dr Godswill All who was overwhelmed with the traditional title conferred on him by the Paramount ruler of Azara Chiefdom, pledged his support to Azara Chiefdom at all times.
Senator Akpabio also donated a car and some undisclosed sum of money to the Emir as part of his contributions to Azara Chiefdom.
