Doemak, the headquarters of Qua’an Pan was agog over the weekend as PDP stalwarts and supporters thronged the area to witness the formal declaration of Paul Datugun popularly known as Paul Yaro to contest for Qua’an Pan North constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly.
It event was greeted with huge support and commitment by the people of the constituency.
Paul Datugun on Friday formally declared his aspiration to the PDP party officials in Doemak, headquarterr of the party in Qua’an Pan local Government Area of Plateau State.
Highlights of event was visiting the five Federal wards in the Qua’an Pan North constituenycy, mamely ; Kwa, Doemak Gichin, Doemak Koplong, Kwang and Dokan Kasuwa fedral wards.
Our correspondent reports that the constituency has zoned the seat to Dokan Kasuwa ward where Paul Yaro hails from, and by implications, the current member occupying the seat in the state house of Assembly, Hon Eric Dakogol be sent packing, even as he has already completed two terms in the house as a legislature.
While addressing the party officials and faithfuls, Datugun assures the people that his victory will be for the unity and development of the constituency, adding that people should disregard the rumors making the rounds by his opponents that EFCC are after him, saying he has no case with EFCC and that such rumors are hand work of mischief makers.
While presenting him to the party officials, comrade Job Damulak told the mamoth crowd of supporters that he was in the race too but decided to step down for Datugun because he is a good and better material for the seat, saying, Datugun has over the years contributed immensly towards unity and development of the constituency and if given the chance he would do more.
Datugun got the blessings and prayers of the district heads of the five wards who all attests to his contributions in the constituency.
A cross section of supporters from different political parties said the current member, Eric Dakogol is serving his second tenue and shouldnt waste his resources to recontest as they will all abide by the zoning agreement.
He has Served the state in various caoacities including, a cashier in ministry of education, deputy DFS ministry of health, central cashier accountant general’s office, accountant bureau of statistics and currently chief accountant PLASMIDA.
