Poverty Alleviation: Nasarawa Deputy Governor Akabe, Empowers 240 Women, Less Previledged With #2.4m To Boost Their Businesses. By Abdullahi Shuaibu, Lafia.

Nasarawa state deputy governor, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe has empowered 240 women and less previledged in Nassarawa- Eggon and Wamba local government Areas of the state with the sum of #2.4m to boost their business activities.

The state deputy governor who commenced the programme at the palace of the Aren Eggon in Nasarawa Eggon local Area urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money in boosting their businesses.

Akabe further explained that the money was part of his immense contributions to the society which he commenced since last year and also appealed to them to continue to support the policies and programmes Of the state governor Engineer Abdullahi Sule and Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe to enable them succeed on the enormous tasks ahead.

Also speaking,state commissioner for Women Affairs and social Development, Hajiya Aisha Rufai Ibrahim while urging the beneficiaries to make good use of the money also Commended the state deputy governor,Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe for his efforts in uplifting the living with the women particularly the widows and the less previledged in the state.

Hajiya Rufai Ibrahim who noted that women have the large voting population in the state further appealed to them to continue to vote for APC which according to her,” APC is the only party that can take you to the promised land.

In wamba local government Area where similar event took place, the state deputy governor, Dr.Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe while Commending the people of Wamba for the large turn out assured them of the state government’s resolved of providing the dividends of democracy to them.

On their parts, Special Adviser to the Governor on special duties, Murtala Lamus, Chairman wamba local government and other critical stakeholders who spoke at the occasion Commended the state deputy governor for his kind gesture which according to them would go along way in tackling the poverty faced by the people of the area.

They assured the state government of the Support and cooperation of the people of Wamba local government to the administration of governor Abdullahi Sule to enable him succeed on the enormous tasks ahead.

Highlights of the occasion include the distribution of cash to the beneficiaries of the deputy governor’s gestures.
